Introduction to Buy X Get X campaign

Hello store owners!

This article will introduce you to the BXGX campaign. After reading the article, you should know how to properly set up your BXGX campaign.

What is BXGX?

BXGX is a promotion type. Customers need to buy a sufficient amount of a specific product in order to be eligible to receive a special offer for the next same product.

Create BXGX campaign

Let's set up a "Buy 2 Green Snowboard get the next Green Snowboard at 100% OFF" campaign

First, before jumping to create the campaign. Let me introduce to you some of the common terms we used in the BXGX campaign.

Customers add to cart: Green Snowboard

Add-to-cart quantity: 2

Step 1: Go to the "Campaigns" tab, click "New campaign", and Select "Buy X Get X (BXGX)"

Step 2: Fill in campaign information in the "Campaign Info & Configuration" card

- Campaign name: the name of the campaign, this will not be shown in the storefront but it's used to manage your campaign list. Try to make it as descriptive as possible.

Step 3: Choose the Grab Offer Behavior for the campaign

- Manual Selection: Customers will get the offer product by manual from the popup display on the storefront.

- Auto Add: The offer product will be auto-added to the customers cart.

Step 4: Choose the campaign logic type

Choose the campaign logic type where you want to apply the discount:
- Same variants: The campaign meets the condition if the customer adds identical variants.
- Any variants: The campaign meets the condition if the customer adds any variants.

Step 5: Select "Customer Add-to-cart" in the "Promotion Configuration" tab

We want to set up a "Buy 2 Green Snowboard get the next Green Snowboard at 100% OFF" campaign. This means that the "Customer Add-to-cart" is Green Snowboard and the "Add-to-cart quantity" is 2

Step 6: Multiply gifts with number of products
With this option, the number of offered products will automatically increase based on the quantity of trigger products added to the cart by the customer. This means that the more trigger products customers buy, the more offers they can get.
For example:
- Buy 2 Snowboards, get 1 Snowboard free
- Buy 4 Snowboards, get 2 Snowboards free
- Buy 8 Snowboards, get 4 Snowboards free
- Buy 20 Snowboards, get 10 Snowboards free

Step 7: Enter a discount value for the offer product:

Under Discount Value section in the "Promotion Configuration" card, you can select the discount type and the discount amount that you want to generally apply to all products selected in the discount list above. As normal, we have 3 discount types which are Percentage (Percent value), Amount (Monetary value) & New price.

Once you finish setting up the discount value, on the campaign preview (for Manual Selection type only), you should see the offer products and their discounted price.

For the sample campaign, we will give this campaign a 100% off on selected products above.

Step 7: Check the campaign summary and hit save

All the information about the campaign will appear in the Summary tab. You can check it again to see if you've configured everything right. After that hit Save to save the campaign.

Then on storefront, the campaign will appear like this once the customer cart total reaches the threshold

Manual Selection type

Auto Add type

Note: There is only the first variant of offer product will be auto-added to cart.
