Introduction to Gift With Purchase campaign



Hello store owners!

This article will introduce you to the Gift With Purchase campaign. After going through everything in this article, you should know how to properly set up your Gift With Purchase campaign. Let's dig in to it!

What is Gift With Purchase?



Gift With Purchase (GWP) refers to a promotional offer where customers receive a gift when they make a purchase or spend a specified amount.

For example: Spend $300 and get a snowboard for FREE
Let me guide you set up a Gift With Purchase campaign!

Create a Gift With Purchase campaign



Let's set up the above campaign showing on image.

Step 1: Go to the Campaign tab > click Create campaign then select campaign "Gift With Purchase"




Step 2: Enter a name for the Campaign name in the Campaign Info & Configuration tab


Campaign name: The name of the campaign, this will not be shown in the storefront but it's used to manage your campaign list. Try to make it as descriptive as possible.

Step 3: Choose the Grab Offer Behavior for the campaign


Manual Selection: Customers will get the offer product by manual from the popup display on the storefront.

Auto Add: The offer product will be auto-added to the customers cart.



Step 4: Enter a value for Minimum cart total section in the Promotion Configuration card


This is where you specify the cart amount threshold in order to trigger the promotion.

Here we set it to 300, this means that in order to be qualified for the promotion, customers need to have cart value of at least $300.



Step 5: Select the trigger item in the Promotion Conditions card


On the Promotion conditions you will see there are 2 options to include in Gift With Purchase campaign

All products: If you select this option, campaign will available for whole store
Specific collections: You need to select specific collection(s) can available for the offer.

Tip: If you want to campaign available for product(s), you can gather it in a collection then select it in Specific collections.

There is only one option to exclude products or collections from the campaign is All products.


To select the products or collections to exclude, tick on the Exclude products/collections box and select the option you want to exclude from the campaign.

Note: There exclude option is unavailable for Specific Collections and you can only select either specific products or specific collections.


Step 6: Select the offer products for Customers Get section in the Promotion Configuration card


This is where you add the products that you want to include as the offer product.

For Manual Selection type:

Example from the above campaign, we will select these products to the discount list:
Green Snowboard
The Archived Snowboard



For Auto Add type:

Here we can be selected only the first variant of one product is:
The Complete Snowboard




Step 7: Set the Offer Limit for the offer product (for Manual Selection type):


Let's set up the number of offered products that you want your customers to add to the cart. The offer limit is 0 means unlimited by default but you can choose for yourself another value.

Following the example above, we set the offer limit as 1. It means when the popup is displaying, customers can only add 1 offer product to the cart.



Step 8: Enter a discount value for the offer product:


Under Discount Value section in the "Promotion Configuration" card, you can select the discount type and the discount amount that you want to generally apply to all products selected in the discount list above. As normal, we have 3 discount types which are Free, Percentage (Percent value) & Amount (Monetary value).

Once you finish setting up the discount value, on the campaign preview (for Manual Selection type only), you should see the offer products and their discounted price.

For the sample campaign, we will give this campaign a 100% off on all selected products above.








Step 9: Advanced Configuration (Optional)


Here are some advanced configuration options that can help you set up a private campaign for certain customer groups:

You can only choose one of the three options if necessary

- Customer tags: Determine the campaign's visibility based on customer tags.

- Target location: Determine the campaign's visibility based on customer location.

- Promotion URL: Create a promotion URL that customers can use to access the offer by clicking the link.

Step 10: Hit Save




Then on storefront, the campaign will appear like this once the customer cart total reaches the threshold

Note: There is only the first variant of offer product will be auto-added to cart.
