Introduction to Flash Sale task

Hello store owners!

This article will introduce you to Flash Sale. After going through everything in this article, you should know how to create and run a Flash Sale with SALE+. Let's dig into it!

What is a Flash Sale?

Flash Sales are popular promotions offering significant discounts for a short period, creating urgency and encouraging impulse buys. They’re especially common on Black Friday and Cyber Monday but can attract shoppers anytime.

Let me walk you through all the Flash Sale settings that our app offers and instruct you how to set this up!

How to run Flash Sale with SALE+

Step 1: In Dashboard > Select “Run Flash Sale”

Step 2: Task info: Fill all information in “Task info” card

Task status: Active -> campaign is ON. Inactive -> campaign is OFF
Task name: Name your Flash Sale. This will not be shown to your customers, it’s only served to manage your task list.

Step 3: Task configuration card: Choose discount products

This is where you select the products you want to include in your Flash Sale. You can choose:

By specific products
By specific collections
All the collections in your store.

In this example, we will create Flash Sale with 4 products:
Colorful dress
High-neck sweater
Purple jacket
White dress

Step 4: Task configuration card: Set up discount value for the Flash Sale

Under the “Set discount value” section, you can first select which field of price to edit. There are 2 options in the dropdown list:
Price
Compare-at-price (CAP)

To learn more about price change logic of Flash sale, please visit:
FAQs| How will the prices be changed when I create a Flash sale?

To make your prices more consistent storewide, consider the “Override cents” option, which allows you to set the same decimal number for every product.

In this example, let’s set the discount value as below:
30% off for all selected products
Product prices ending in .85

Once you finish setting up the discount value, on the preview pane on the right, you should see the first product in the list showing its name and discounted price.

Step 5: Task configuration card: Set price change rules

When the Flash sale task ends, all products/collections will revert to their prices in two ways:
Revert to Original Price: Automatically reverts to the original price that you initially set for the product.
Revert to Last Edited Price: Automatically reverts products/collections to the last edited price at the Compare-at-Price field.

Step 6: Stock Progress Bar: Create Urgency for the Promotion

This is an optional feature designed to help boost your sales by creating urgency for the product. You can choose to display or not display it on your storefront.

The number entered must be greater than 0 and less than the available inventory of the product in your store. If the number exceeds the available stock, the progress bar will not appear on your storefront.

Step 7: Task schedule card: Set schedule for your Flash Sale

In this section, you can choose start date and time; end date and time for the task. With this feature, the Flash Sale will run automatically on your desired dates, without you having to standby.

The time set is based on your store’s timezone.

For the paid plan, our app includes a recurring task feature with Weekly Schedule and Monthly Schedule, both of which automatically display a countdown timer when the task is active (optional).

Weekly schedule: Instead of setting up a one-time schedule each week, this feature will automatically activate and end Flash Sale tasks based on the time you've set for any day of the week.
Example:
Start time: Tuesday at 2:45 p.m.
End time: Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
→ The Flash Sale task will automatically activate on Tuesday at 2:45 p.m. and end at 3:00 p.m on Tuesday of next week.

Monthly schedule: Similar to the Weekly Schedule, this feature will automatically activate and end the Flash Sale task based on the time you've set, but according to specific days in the month.
Example:
Start date: The 3rd of every month at 6:00 AM
End date: The 22nd of every month at 4:00 PM
→ The Flash Sale task will automatically activate on the 3rd at 6:00 a.m. and end on the 22nd at 4:00 p.m. every month.

Some notes you need to pay attention to

When a Flash sale task is active, prices won’t be reverted back until the task is disabled. Therefore, please deactivate the Flash Sale before uninstalling the app.
