Introduction to Gift With Purchase campaign

What is Gift With Purchase?
Gift With Purchase (GWP) refers to a promotional offer where customers receive a gift when they make a purchase or spend a specified amount.

Create a Gift With Purchase campaign
Let's set up the above campaign showing on image.
Step 1: Go to the Campaign tab > click New campaign then select campaign Gift With Purchase
Step 2: Enter a name for the Campaign name
- Campaign name: The name of the campaign, this will not be shown in the storefront but it's used to manage your campaign list. Try to make it as descriptive as possible.
Step 3: Select the trigger item
On the Customer purchases you will see there are 2 options to include in Gift With Purchase Campaign
- All products: If you select this option, the campaign will be available for the whole store
- Specific collections: You need to select specific collection(s) that are available for the offer.
Tip: If you want to campaign available for the product(s), you can gather it in a collection and then select it in Specific collections.
There is only one option to exclude products or collections from the campaign All products.
To select the products or collections to exclude, tick on the Exclude products/collections box and select the option you want to exclude from the campaign.
Step 4: Enter a value for the Minimum cart total
This is where you specify the cart amount threshold in order to trigger the promotion.
Here we set it to 300, which means that to be qualified for the promotion, customers need to have a cart value of at least $300.
Step 5: Choose the gift
This is where you add the products that you want to include as the gift. Customer can get gifts when they reach minimum cart value
📌NOTE: You can choose more than 1 gift
Step 6: Set discount value and quantity of gift
You have the option to give the gift as free or discounted products by amount or percentage
Then fill in the quantity you want to give for each product you set as gift.
Step 7: Number of gift customer will receive
This functionality enables you to restrict the gift that a customer will receive from a list of available gifts. For instance, you can configure a total of two products as gifts, but then set the number of gifts the customer will receive to 1. This means that the customer can only choose 1 out of the 2 gifts that you offer.
This setting is only available when you choose Manual as Gift claim behavior
Step 8: Choose the Gift Claim Behavior for the campaign
- Manual: Customers will get the offer product manually from the popup display on the storefront.
- Automated: The offer product will be auto-added to the customer's cart.
Step 9: Active dates
You can schedule Start date and End date for the campaign
The time zone is based on your default settings in Shopify admin
Step 10: Campaign targeting (Optional)
Here are some advanced configuration options that can help you set up a private campaign for certain customer groups:
You can only choose one of the three options if necessary
- Customer tags: Determine the campaign's visibility based on customer tags
- Target location: Determine the campaign's visibility based on customer location
- Promotion URL: Create a promotion URL that customers can use to access the offer by clicking the link.
Step 11: Save campaign
Then on the storefront, the campaign will appear like this once the customer cart total reaches the threshold
