How to set up the Checkout actions of the Cart Drawer

Overview

Checkout Actions allow you to customize how customers proceed from the cart drawer to the next step of their purchasing journey.

You can customize:

  • The checkout button text.
  • Where customers are redirected when clicking the checkout button.
  • Secondary cart actions.
  • Accelerated checkout methods.
  • Third-party checkout option.
  • The appearance of checkout buttons.

Providing clear checkout actions can help create a smoother shopping experience and reduce friction during checkout.

Checkout Button Settings

Customize the Checkout Button

Customize the text displayed on the primary checkout button.

Snap Cart Drawer supports dynamic variables that automatically update based on the customer's cart information.

Variable Description
{{total_price}} Displays the current total price of the customer's cart.

Example

Total amount - {{total_price}}

If the customer's cart total is $45, the button will display:

Total amount - $45

Displaying the cart total directly on the checkout button can help customers quickly review their order value before proceeding.

After clicking the checkout button

Choose what happens when customers click the primary checkout button.

Go to Checkout

Redirect customers directly to Shopify's native checkout experience.

This option is recommended for most Shopify stores and provides customers with Shopify's standard checkout flow.

Go to Cart Page

Redirect customers to the store's cart page instead of proceeding directly to checkout.

This option may be useful when customers need additional time to:

  • Review their cart contents.
  • Modify quantities.
  • Apply promotions or discounts.
  • Access additional cart functionality provided by their theme or installed apps.

Checkout Behavior

You can choose between Shopify Native Checkout or using a third-party checkout app that you have installed.

Shopify Native Checkout

When using Shopify Native Checkout, customers will be redirected to Shopify's standard checkout page after clicking the checkout button.

This option requires no additional setup and works with Shopify's default checkout experience.

Third-party Checkout

Snap Cart Drawer also supports integrations with selected third-party checkout providers.

When enabled, customers will be redirected to the connected checkout provider instead of Shopify's native checkout.

Note: Third-party checkout providers must first be installed and connected before this integration becomes available.

Currently, the app is supported for Kwik COD & Checkout; Shiprocket One Click Checkout

If you would like to use a supported third-party checkout provider, please contact our support team for assistance with the integration process.

Secondary Actions

You can optionally display additional cart actions beneath the primary checkout button.

Show View Cart

Displays a button that redirects customers to the cart page.

This option allows customers to review their cart before proceeding to checkout.

Show Continue Shopping

Displays a button that allows customers to close the cart drawer and continue browsing products within your store.

This option can help create a smoother shopping experience for customers who are not yet ready to complete their purchase.

Accelerated Checkout

Enable Show Accelerated Methods to display supported accelerated checkout options within the cart drawer.

Depending on the payment methods enabled in your Shopify store, customers may see options such as:

  • Shop Pay
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay
  • PayPal
  • Other supported accelerated payment methods

Note: The payment methods displayed are determined by your Shopify payment settings and may vary between stores.

Accelerated checkout methods can help reduce checkout friction by allowing customers to complete their purchases more quickly.

Customize the Appearance

Navigate to the Design tab to customize the appearance of the checkout button.

You can customize:

Colors

  • Button background color.
  • Button text color.

Border

  • Border size.
  • Border color.

These settings allow you to better match the checkout section with your store's branding and design preferences.

Customer Experience

Checkout Actions determine how customers move from the cart drawer to the next stage of their purchasing journey.

Depending on your configuration, customers can:

  • Proceed directly to checkout.
  • Navigate to the cart page.
  • Continue shopping.
  • Use accelerated checkout methods.
  • Complete purchases through supported third-party checkout providers.

Providing clear and intuitive checkout actions can help improve the overall shopping experience and increase conversion opportunities.
