How to Replace the Default Shopify “Checkout” Button with GoKwik Checkout
Introduction
By default, when customers click the Checkout button in the cart, they are redirected to Shopify’s standard checkout page.
If you are using GoKwik (Kwik COD & Checkout), you can change this behavior so that customers are redirected to GoKwik’s checkout instead. This is particularly useful for improving conversion rates, especially for cash-on-delivery (COD) orders.
You can configure this directly within the Snap Cart Drawer app in a few simple steps.
Setup Guide
Step 1: Open Cart Customization
- Go to Shopify Admin
- Open the Snap Cart Drawer app
- Click Customize
Step 2: Navigate to the Checkout Section
- In the left-hand menu, select Cart
- Scroll to the Cart footer
- Click on Checkout section
This section controls how the checkout button behaves.
Step 3: Enable GoKwik Checkout
In the Checkout behavior settings:
- Select: Third-party checkout
- From the dropdown menu, choose: Kwik COD & Checkout
Once selected, the checkout button will redirect customers to GoKwik instead of Shopify.
Step 4: (Optional) Customize the Checkout Button Text
You can update the button label if needed. For example:
Checkout - {{total_price}}
This allows you to display the total price directly on the checkout button.
Result
After completing the setup:
- Customers open the cart drawer
- Click the Checkout button
- They are redirected to the GoKwik checkout instead of Shopify’s default checkout
Important Notes
- Ensure that GoKwik app is installed and properly activated
- If GoKwik is not correctly set up, a warning may appear and the checkout button may not function as expected
- Confirm that the GoKwik app is fully connected to your store
Best Practice
Use clear and descriptive button text such as:
- “Checkout with GoKwik”
- “Cash on Delivery Checkout”
This helps customers better understand the checkout experience, especially when COD is enabled.
