Introduction to Price-based Discount Campaign
Price-based Discount is a great way to reward customers when they spend more — giving them free or discounted items based on their total cart value or item quantity.
This encourages higher spending and helps increase your average order value, especially for stores with many low-cost items.
In this guide, we'll walk you through how to set up a Price-based Discount campaign step-by-step — no technical skills required!
What is Price-based Discount?
This campaign gives customers a discount (or even a free) on the cheapest or most expensive items when their cart meets a minimum value or quantity.
You can customize the number of items customers get, which product ranges the campaign applies to, and how the discount is calculated.
For example: If you set a campaign Buy at least 2 items → Get 1 cheapest item for free, here is how it will display on your storefront:
How to Set Up a Price-based Discount Campaign
Step 1: Create a New Campaign
- Go to the campaign list in your BOGO app.
- Click Create Campaign.
Step 2: Set Campaign Basics
Enter your Campaign Name — this will show to customers in their cart and at checkout.
Under Customer purchases, choose which products the campaign applies to.
Set Minimum Purchase Requirement: Choose how the campaign is triggered:
- Total cart value: Set an amount (e.g. $100)
- Total item quantity: Set a number of items (e.g. 5)
Step 3: Set the Discount Offer
Decide what customers will get when they qualify:
Apply discount on:
- Cheapest item(s)
- Most expensive item(s)
Offer quantity: Set how many item(s) to apply the discount to (e.g. 1)
Discount type: Choose one of the following:
Step 4: Set Campaign Active Dates, Combinations and Targeting
Pick your campaign start date and time. You can also set an end date if needed.
Choose which other discounts this campaign can combine with:
Targeting: Choose to apply this campaign to all customers, or only to customers with specific tags.
Step 5: Activate Your Campaign
- Click Save to launch your campaign.
- Be sure to test it on your storefront to make sure it looks and works as expected!
