Enhance the visibility of your shipping rate for customers in the cart
Use case:
Customers often hesitate to complete their purchase when they cannot see the shipping cost upfront. By enabling the Estimate Shipping Rate feature in your cart drawer, your customers can check shipping fees directly inside the cart — before they even reach the checkout page.
This is a great way to build trust, reduce cart abandonment, and help customers make faster purchasing decisions.
Step 1: Open your cart editor
From your Snap Cart Drawer dashboard, you can open the cart editor in two ways:
If you are editing your default cart, click the Edit Cart Default button at the top of the page.
If you have multiple carts set up, scroll down to the Carts list and click on the name of the cart you want to edit.
Step 2: Enable Estimate Shipping Rate
Inside the cart editor, look at the left sidebar and scroll down to the Footer section.
Find Estimate shipping rate and toggle it on. Once enabled, you will see its settings panel open in the center of the screen.
Step 3: Customize the text (Settings tab)
In the Settings tab, you can personalize how the feature appears to your customers:
- Title — The heading shown above the shipping estimator (e.g., Estimate Shipping Rate).
- Button label — The text on the button customers click to calculate (e.g., Estimate).
- Message when no rates found — What customers see if no shipping options are available for their location.
- Message when rates are found — The message shown alongside the results. You can use
{{count_shipping_rates}}to display the number of available options.
Step 4: Customize the appearance (Design tab)
Switch to the Design tab to style the feature to match your store's branding:
- Title size — Adjust the font size of the section title.
- Title color — Pick a color for the title text.
- Button text color — Choose the color of the text on the Estimate button.
- Button background color — Set the button's background color.
Step 5: Save and test
Click Save in the top right corner to publish your changes.
Then visit your storefront, add a product to the cart, and open the cart drawer. You should see the Estimate Shipping Rate section in the footer area of the cart.

Click Estimate, and a popup will appear where customers can select their Country, Province / Area, and enter their Zip code / Postal code, then click Estimate to see the available shipping rates for their location.
